Planning a wedding can be stressful. Knowing what to expect can ease a bride's fears. When I accept a bridal client, I ask about the bride and groom, the sort of day they are hoping to have, who will be there, and how they want to remember the day. Most importantly, I ask about them as people, and their day-to-day likes and dislikes. Weddings can very easily become bigger and grander than intended. So, I try to make the experience of designing your dress and those of your bridal party fun. Everything should look and feel as comfortable at the end of the day as it did when you first put it on. The whole process is very collaborative and, I hope, enjoyable.

I accept wedding commissions of the following kinds:

  • Alterations
  • Remodelling of vintage pieces
  • Complete design and manufacture
  • Coordinated accessories
  • Accompany clients on shopping trips
  • Mother of bride/groom
  • Gentlemen's vests, cummerbunds, etc.
  • Flower girl and ring bearer outfits

Every wedding is different both in style and in the number of people involved. A typical wedding package including

  • designing and producing wedding gown, maid of honour's dress and flower girl's dress
  • two design consultations
  • fabric shopping trip
  • muslin production and fitting
  • garment construction and fitting

would cost $5,000 + GST + materials and findings. Materials and findings for all three dresses in plain silk would be $500 to $700.
